Good morning from Atlanta. The LSU contingent of coach Brian Kelly and three players came and went Monday from SEC Media Days, but there are still LSU angles to be explored. Namely, who may be coming to SEC Media Days in 2026 as the Tigers' projected starting quaterback succeeding Garrett Nussmeier? Right now, the odds are on former Mississippi State transfer Michael Van Buren. Our Wilson Alexander spoke to his former teammates who were at SEC Media Days on Wednesday and had this to report. That said, in my opinion, LSU will have to go back in the transfer portal for another quarterback if for nothing else than depth. Speaking of quarterbacks, the ones of the dual-threat variety like Texas A&M's Marcel Reed really vexed the Tigers' defense in 2024. LSU needs to do a better job of defending them, because the 2025 schedule is full of them as well. Check out my three takes from Wednesday here in Atlanta, starting with what's missing from SEC Media Days: the Alabama mystique. Wilson has a short story on Alabama as well, with Bama players admitting they didn't trust new coach Kalen DeBoer at first. LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson continues to shape his roster for 2026, bringing in a transfer pitcher Wednesday from Kansas named Cooper Moore. Our Koki Riley also took a stab at what LSU's baseball roster will look like next season. That's all for today, folks.
