| | Blurring town and gown Hello on a Monday, good readers. A big conference on university entreprenurship is coming to Baltimore, and you can read all about it below. For me, doing the reporting helped to crystallize how much university entrepreneurship spaces have grown in the last decade, and how big of a part they play in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It got me thinking about a response to one of our newsletters last week, when we asked about how the city can grow as a startup hub
One entrpreneur said deepening ties to Johns Hopkins is the thing. "Its students are regularly winning national innovation and technology prizes/startup competitions/hackathons. But these students are usually not integrated into the greater Baltimore community while they are students, so there is little reason for them to stay, despite all the great things Baltimore has to offer," they said. The lines are still open. Tell us: What does Baltimore need to do to become a world-recognized startup hub?
