September Pecha Kucha evening. Join us this Wednesday (22nd September) 7-9pm for our monthly Pecha Kucha evening at Atelier Beside the Sea. We start the evening with drinks and a get-together in the gallery before proceeding into our workshop arch for the on the artists talks. We have an inspiring line up of six speakers who will tell their story in the Pecha Kucha (it means Chit Chat in Japanese) 20 by 20 format, that is 20 slides each shown for 20 seconds making each talk 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Tickets are £17.50 including drinks. |

Speakers include 1. Araminta Hall. A queen of domestic dramas, of psycho manipulations. Heralded in the Richard and Judy book club. The author of Perfect Strangers. 2. William Shaw. A masterful magician of crime writing, has twice been longlisted for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year and the CWA Historical Dagger and shortlisted for a Barry Award, The CWA Golden Dagger and the Golden Bullet. 3. Kate Jenkins. The Mistress of Crochet, who creates a magical cornucopia of playful pop-art crochet, knit and embroidery creations from croissants to crustaceans served beautifully on platters. 4. Alison Milner. A wonderful designer maker whose overall aim is to humanise the built environment and help people to feel a connection with the places that they live and work in a subtle and very natural way. 5. Tina O'Clary. Tina is a textile artist specialising in installation arts. |

Join us 2nd & 3rd October at the Homeward Bound Festival.Atelier Beside the Sea is taking part in the Homeward Bound Festival, on the 2nd & 3rd October 2021. It's a celebration of the fishing and maritime industries, as well as the region's rich folk music tradition and ocean-bound cultural heritage. We are running a range of short workshops across both days suitable for adults and kids alike all inspired by the sea. |
