The Front Page: Saints game screen pass, COVID remedies good and bad, roaster of a weekend

By Drew Broach | Deputy metro editor

SCREENING PASS: Saints fans get their first in-person look at the team in preseason game action Monday when New Orleans hosts Jacksonville. But to enter the Caesars Superdome, Who Dats must show proof of coronavirus vaccination or a recent negative test - potentially a logistical logjam as thousands of fans try arrive at once. The Saints and the Dome have a plan to speed things along.

While prepping for the game, catch with up 10 things sports columnist Jeff Duncan has learned from Saints training camp.

THERE GOES MY MIRACLE: Grasping for a cure, some COVID-19 patients in Louisiana of late have been buying up the livestock dewormer ivermectin. Bad idea, doctors say.

There is, however, a simple treatment that medical professionals do recommend: monoclonal antibodies.

SUMMER IN THE CITY: If you must go outside Saturday and Sunday, take precautions. The predicted heat index will make it feel like 113° or worse in the New Orleans area. Here's why.

You'll find these stories and many more in the Front Page and on NOLA.com. Welcome to the broiling weekend.
