Boogaloo time: Time to head to Bayou St. John for Bayou Boogaloo. The annual Mid-City blowout opens today and runs through the weekend. Look for lots of music, great food and, of course, lots of people floating on all manner of things in the bayou, Doug MacCash tells us. Short-term rental regs: The city’s short-term rentals regulations are back in the news, er, courts. Opponents of the new regs filed a complaint in federal court Thursday, seeking to have them tossed, Ben Myers reports. And while we're on the subject of New Orleans neigborhoods, a New Orleans City Council member has asked that enforcement of historic building protections in the historic French Quarter be put on hold. Changing hands – again: One of Metairie’s best-known restaurants is changing hands. Again. Andrea’s has a new owner and a change in plans, our restaurant guy Ian McNulty says. Better pay: Jefferson Parish Council members are debating raises for parish workers. The parish government has nearly 700 jobs open and some think better wages might entice workers to stay. In a pickle: Drew Brees is a Super Bowl winner and a sure-fire NFL Hall of Famer. And now he’s also a festival organizer. Come August, look for NOLA Pickleball Fest to be ramping up at the Convention Center. Oh, and there will be a celebrity match featuring . . . well, you know who!
