What you can now do after lockdown restrictions change today

Good evening,

It seems that there is only one story dominating the headlines at the moment.

The no-holds barred interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has polarised the nation in a way we thought only Brexit could.

Some people believe Meghan has been brave in telling her version of life in the Royal Family while others think that if the Sussexes truly wanted the privacy they say they crave, they should have kept well away from Oprah.

However, while some of us debated if this was a constitutional crisis, the really important story of the day was actually going on in care homes across the country.

For the first time in almost a year, some relatives have been allowed inside to see their loved ones and hold their hands. Pictures from these first meetings are heart-warming and heart-breaking in equal degree as elderly people get a chance to reach out for daughters, sons or grandchildren after 12 months of confusion and loneliness.

It is a disgrace that this has not happened before. But at least now the many care home residents affected can clasp their relatives once more.
