What We're Truly Grateful For | Like many Americans, today I’ve been scrolling through the Black Friday deals online. After a few minutes I had a realization. I don’t want any of this stuff! There was a sale on TVs, but I already have one. Robot vacuum? Wouldn’t work with our small kids. They’d probably try to ride it. Electric toothbrushes were on sale, but we already have those. I realized I have all my needs met—and many of my wants too. Not everyone is so fortunate, so I’m grateful. But when we stop to reflect on our blessings, the kinds of consumer goods featured on Black Friday rarely make the list. I was reflecting on that fact as I read this roundup from Christianity Today editors and contributors on what they’re thankful for this year. They’re responses will make you contemplate your own blessings. Oh, and not one mentioned robot vacuums. |
