Hi Communicator, What’s the state of your storytelling? I ask that question everywhere I go. Here’s what I get back: Not good enough. Hit and miss. Not very creative. Not enough time to do it right. No buy-in from the bosses. Boring. Sound familiar? Come to my Brand Storytelling workshop in Miami, on April 7, 2020, and we’ll do something about it. Here’s why you should attend: "Storytelling" sounds like a nice-to-have sort of thing, but in reality it has become an essential business requirement. Storytelling is how your organization stands apart from the crowd (and it’s really crowded and noisy out there). It’s the best way to enhance your reputation, showcase your expertise and establish your brand voice. Yet too many of our best stories fall through the cracks. Press releases and marketing copy don’t get the job done. Media coverage is spotty and unreliable. You have to tell your own story because there aren’t enough reporters to tell it for you. Take matters into your own hands. Come to my one-day workshop and leave with this: Your business argument for brand storytelling A roadmap for organizing your editorial staff A measurement plan based on impact and influence, not just clicks and likes A guide to the six kinds of stories you should be doing A plan to build photography, video and infographics into your editorial mix A running start on the best story you haven’t told yetMiami in early April? What could be better? I hope to see you there, Jim Ylisela P.S. Can’t make it to Miami in April? That’s a bummer, but I’ll be teaching this workshop in two other cities this year: in Chicago, on Aug. 18; and on Oct. 21, in a city still to be determined. |
