| Wolves in Trump's Crosshairs Last week, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it intends to strip gray wolves of Endangered Species Act protections and return wolf management to states that are eager to reinstitute hunting. “For over a hundred years, wolves have been needlessly persecuted,” says Bonnie Rice, director of the Sierra Club’s Greater Yellowstone/Northern Rockies campaign. “[They] have barely started to recover in some areas, and still occupy only five percent of their historic range.” Read more. |

| Dash for Cash in Zion Zion National Park turns 100 this year, hot on the heels of neighboring Grand Canyon National Park, which celebrated its centennial last month. Team Sierra didn’t want to miss out on the celebration, so last week a group of teammates participated in the Zion Centennial Half Marathon. Money raised by Team Sierra athletes helps preserve public lands, protect vulnerable places, and make the outdoors more accessible to everyone. Find out how much they raised, and check out their photos of the half marathon. |
