What's on tap for this week's special session?

BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

Special session underway: During an eight-day session that starts Monday, lawmakers will weigh reshaping Louisiana's congressional districts and its Supreme Court. They will also consider a request by Gov. Jeff Landry to change the state's elections system, Tyler Bridges reports.

One family's journey: Since Jan. 1, Louisiana doctors have been banned from providing gender-affirming medical care – such as puberty blockers and surgeries – to minors. The families who had come to rely on that care have since had to travel to other states to obtain it. James Finn has one family's story.

Landrieu to aid Biden: Mitch Landrieu, a former New Orleans mayor, is the second New Orleans native to help lead the effort to reelect President Joe Biden, Mark Ballard reports. Biden is trailing former President Donald Trump in several polls.
