As the New Year begins and the 2019 season awaits, we thought it was a good time to take a look at what to expect from the Haute Route in 2019. Following the rapid growth of the calendar of events over the previous three years, it’s time to take stock of what events you can choose from and which event is best suited for you.
What’s new in 2019?
Three important developments have taken place for the 2019 season. Two of them you’ve probably already heard of, the third perhaps not. The Infinity Pass now allows keen riders to take part in as many events as they wish throughout the year for one fixed price. Three new 3-Day events have been added in Oman, Mexico, and Qingcheng, offering exciting new destinations and challenging riding at both ends of the season. All* 3-Day events in 2019 now offer the opportunity to choose from two different courses. Riders can decide whether to take on the 'Original’ course, or the ‘Compact’ course which offers the same overall rider experience but features less kilometers and less vertical meters of climbing on each stage. WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
We are excited to introduce in 2019 a brand-new digital magazine!
Published quarterly, it will keep you up to date with the latest developments in the Haute Route world and provide valuable insights that you won’t find anywhere else.
The first edition will be published in February and will feature a preview of the season, an interview with the Haute Route Alps Race Director as well as several Rider Profiles, event stories and guest columns. |
