EVERYTHING HAPPENING IN TORONTO REAL ESTATE THIS WEEK |
Dear reader, Don’t look now, but Vaughan is about to explode—figuratively speaking, of course. In the past few years, the city (whose only claims to fame until now have been Canada’s Wonderland and Vaughan Mills mall) has approved a series of generational projects that will rival downtown Toronto’s sparkle. I’m thinking of Toromont’s 17-building proposal with 10,000 units, four parks and two new roads. And there’s the just-announced addition of two Brobdingnagian towers just east of Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, one of which will house a 225-room hotel. Curb Appeal’s top post this week is also sky high: a two-storey penthouse at Jane and Highway 7 with four distinct climate zones. From their balconies in the clouds, residents can appreciate Toronto’s OG skyline. Something to aspire to, I suppose.
Also in today’s newsletter: a new proposal asks for more density and rental units in the Beaches. And a tour of a Corktown condo that went from drab to glam. |

Here’s a three-bedroom, four-bathroom penthouse just north of Toronto that comes with a locker, two parking spots and a huge balcony with staggering views. Residents are within walking distance of a handful of restaurants plus an IKEA. And motorists are a short drive from Highways 7, 400 and 407. |

| If approved, a new proposal would bring 106 rental units to the Beaches. Good news for fans of both hops and heritage architecture; tough luck for the area’s infamous NIMBYs. |

| Goodbye, pedestrian palette, cramped corners and hideous closets. Hello, funky wallpaper, wide open spaces and supreme storage all over. |
