Dear Friend, Last year’s SIC Virtual Pass holders told me they thought one of its greatest perks is the live stream feature. They also mentioned how impressed they were with the “Ask a Question” function that enables passholders to ask real-time questions and have their voices heard in the Q&A sessions. Of course, we’ve made sure that this function will be an integral part of the SIC 2019 Virtual Pass again. I was delighted at how actively SIC 2018 Virtual Pass holders participated in the Q&As. I am sure we’ll see a similar level of engagement this year. Some of my readers like to be prepared—so here is a list of speakers who have confirmed that they will hold a Q&A session after their presentation: Carmen Reinhart, Professor of the International Financial System, Harvard Kennedy School Barry Habib, CEO of MBS Highway, and John Burns, CEO of John Burns Real Estate Consulting Mark Yusko, CEO and CIO, Morgan Creek Capital Management Howard Marks, Co-Chairman, Oaktree Capital David Rosenberg, Chief Economist and Strategist at Gluskin Sheff Grant Williams, Author of Things That Make You Go Hmmm... All of the panels. We have some incredible panels this year—on China, Europe, energy, and global debt. The China panel alone is a virtual smorgasbord of heavy hitters: Kyle Bass, Felix Zulauf, Louis Gave, Simon Hunt, and Leland Miller. If you are one of the “Q&A preppers” I mentioned above, after you order your Virtual Pass, you may want to look up the bios of each of those speakers and consider what kind of questions you would like to ask them. To give you a head start, here’s a link to a recent media appearance by my good friend David “Rosie” Rosenberg that I found uniquely fascinating. In it, he tells you about an economic event that, historically, 80% of the time has led to recession... and we’re currently seeing it again. If my previous SIC experiences are any indicator, our speakers will create quite a buzz with their stimulating lectures, so there will be a lot of food for thought—and questions. Just don’t forget to get your deeply discounted Virtual Pass first. I should mention, though, that of course you are in no way obligated to ask questions or to otherwise participate. I just want to make sure you know the option is available since it gives you more access to the SIC speakers.
