![]() It’s estimated that 10% of women struggle with postpartum anxiety -- or constant and excessive worry after childbirth (especially about the baby’s health and safety). Other studies have suggested that number may be even higher at 20% to 25%.
Far too often, the women’s partners don't realize what their wives and girlfriends are going through: "I wish my partner had somehow known how much fear I was living with," one woman told senior reporter Kelsey Borresen in a new piece on postpartum anxiety. "I know he could have helped me reach out to people who could help me.”
To encourage more candid, honest conversations about PPA, Borresen asked women who have dealt with it to share what they wish their partners understood about the condition. Read their stories here.
