Complete the survey by midnight Sunday 29 September 2024 and you could win one of five $100 online shopping vouchers, or a $500 voucher to spend on fuel, at Woolworths or JB Hi-Fi. Upcoming green waste collection information Before you start pruning and putting your green waste on the verge, it's vital to check trees and plants for any symptoms caused by the serious environmental and agricultural pest polyphagous shot-hole borer (PSHB). This tiny beetle is infesting trees in the Perth metro area, including Cockburn and its neighbouring suburbs, and we're working with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) to ensure there is a reduced risk of spreading PSHB through your green waste collection. Look for multiple holes on the trunk or branches that are approximately the size of a ballpoint pen tip, and frass (noodles) or crystalline foam (sugar volcanoes) coming from the holes. If you suspect borer damage to trees, make a report to DPIRD through the Pest and Disease Information Service on 9368 3080, via the department's MyPestGuide Reporter app, or email. |

Are you bushfire ready? As we approach the hotter and drier months, it’s a good time to make sure you are prepared in the event of a bushfire. Preparing and maintaining your property, adhering to designated burning times and any fire bans is not only required by law, but they also play a crucial role in protecting you, your family, and your property. You can read the City’s Fire Control Order on our website, and while you’re there check out our Preparing for fire season video series, which explains how to best prepare in the event of a fire emergency. | How to prepare |
