From the sight of the Confederate flag being waved inside the US Capitol to Reverend Ralph Warnock winning the United States Senate special election in Georgia to become the first African American to represent a southern state in the Senate, the events of the past week are further proof that America is at a crossroads. Do we perpetuate the forces of collective amnesia and the comforts offered by a post-truth society or do we continue to work to tear them down, however discomforting that might be.
