New agribusiness center brings 1,547 jobs to South Carolina The $314 million Agriculture Technology Campus cluster, a joint venture for growing and distributing local produce, is projected to have an annual economic impact of nearly $552 million. Located within an Opportunity Zone, it will include greenhouses for locally grown fresh produce, along with a 150,000-square-foot distribution center and a co-packing facility. Helping Out That Big Book Sale, slated for Oct. 9-11, has been postponed and tentatively rescheduled for May 27-30 because of COVID-19. The Charleston Friends of the Library will instead hold pop-up book sales once a month through the rest of the year at locations throughout the Lowcountry. |
