Look under the hood

Clean that camera lens with a microfiber cloth — these are perfect for the job. No scratches, please!

And get to know your specs. Switch to 4K for important videos, and try those fancy photo modes. My favorite? Portrait mode for pet, older adult and kiddo pics.

Let there be light, but not too much

Natural light rocks. It's like a magic filter. Remember, don't make people stand directly under a light unless you're into harsh shadows and showing off every little bump and wrinkle.

Also, face the light, folks. If you can't find the sun, find a shady spot. Cloudy days? They're the bomb for portraits — no squinting, just gleaming faces. Gorg!

Stability, people

Tripods are one pro secret to getting amazing shots. They're perfect for group photos. No more balancing your phone on something and hoping it stays.

Every Sunday after family dinner, a Utah grandpa would grab the comics and read them to his grandkids. When COVID-19 hit, he needed a distanced way to do it, so he took to YouTube.

His “Grandpa Reads the Comics” channel wasn’t getting much traction — until an influential Instagrammer stumbled across his videos. The content was so heartwarming, he had to share it. It wasn’t long until Grandpa soared past 100,000 subscribers.
