And science, too, of course.
| | | | Hi there, World Animal Day is October 4! I used to work at a zoo when I was in college! My title was “Adventure Guide.” It was hands-down the coolest job ever (after this one of course!). 😉 Although I didn’t work with animals, my job was to support children’s events, which meant festivals, birthday parties, private tours and more! I loved helping children experience the wonder and joy of life - in all different shapes and sizes. My goal was to help them appreciate the complexity of the circle of life and our role in helping to keep wildlife wild and thriving. One of the most common things I heard from young children was, “I want to be a zookeeper when I grow up!” And that was a bonus for me! To inspire a young child’s future? How cool is that? There are so many different careers in science worth exploring, but with social distancing and the continued uncertainty with the Coronavirus, I wanted to bring that inspiration to you right at home. Here are some virtual ways to explore wildlife with your kids: - Explore the hashtag: #BringTheZooToYou - Follow zoos and aquariums on social media. - Check out this career profile for a Zookeeper! Have fun, Lindsey |
