View email online | | | | | Feb 16, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening I think we are all looking for a bit of clarity at the moment. While we are all desperately looking forward to coming out of lockdown, it is difficult to look too far forward. There are some positives we can point to. The lockdown has seen the number of cases - and deaths - start to fall across the entire county, plus the vaccine roll-out has proved to be even more efficient than expected. However, while we await the Prime Minister’s ‘roadmap’ announcement next week, it is critical that we don’t lose momentum in making progress to cut the spread of the virus. For example, moving vaccine supplies out of the North West to parts of the country less successful in the roll-out is madness because deprivation is a factor in the spread of Covid and we know that the region is more deprived than many down South where vaccine supplies are being re-routed. And we also need to be sure that when Mr Johnson’s announcement comes, the plans are clear and we can all see the road ahead. That way we will all move together and defeat this together.
