Our bodies are full of it.
| | Scientists Discover Microplastics in Human Tissues | Michael Pollan wrote that if you eat a typical American diet, you are made of corn; "It holds together your McNuggets, it sweetens your soda pop, it fattens your meat, it is everywhere." Now all that corn will be carefully preserved, because Katherine reports that we are made of plastic (probably used to wrap all those corn products!). The scientists doing the research say "we never want to be alarmist" – but these particles are smaller than the PM2.5 that have been found to be so dangerous. Sounds like its worth being alarmist to me, and yet another reason to stop using this stuff. | |
