By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor After days waiting on a cold snap, the questions turned this morning to "When will it warm up?" Aside from the obvious "Not soon enough," we take a look at when things may finally begin to thaw. A lot of this depends on where you live. The River Parishes are poised to guide Santa into the region Christmas Eve. The cold and the recent rains cannot deter people from building bonfires along the levee. And just how cold will it be for New Orleans' game at the Cleveland Browns on Saturday? The number of degrees on the thermometer will be fewer than the number of yards it takes to make a first down. As things stand now, it will be the coldest Saints game ever. The temperature will be 9 (it takes 10 yards to make a first down), winds will be around 30 mph (pushing the windchill below zero) and there's a 50 percent chance of snow coming off Lake Erie. |
