How to Propose:
Read the TWSC NOFO. Before submitting a proposal, potential proposers must email (e.g., “Inquiry Email” in Section 4.2.1), and receive an email response from the Program Officer, Dr. Bradley Burcar (bradley.t.burcar (at) nasa.gov). Only when you are encouraged by the Program Officer should you then submit a full proposal.
Here’s How NASA Astrobiology Treats TWSC proposals:
Biannual Review: NASA Astrobiology does not review proposals on a rolling basis as described in the NOFO. Instead, TWSC proposals submitted to the Astrobiology Program are reviewed every June and December. We evaluate TWSC proposals using the following specific funding levels that differ from the main TWSC NOFO as outlined in Section 5.2 Review and Selection Process:
💰 Funding Tiers:
Small Proposals: Need a little boost? We're ready to support numerous smaller projects with grants of up to $10k. Medium Proposals: Got a bigger idea? We fund a select number of medium-sized projects with grants up to $50k. Large Proposals: Dreaming big? We occasionally fund larger, transformative projects with grants up to $100k.
Why Apply?
🌍 Make a Difference: Your innovative ideas can change the world – and we're here to help you make that impact. 🤝 Foster Collaboration: Bring together brilliant minds from various fields to collaborate and achieve something extraordinary. 🚀 Reach for the Stars: With NASA Astrobiology's support, the sky isn't the limit – it's just the beginning.
