Welcome to the March edition of Wanneroo Link.

The City is gearing up to welcome the Danish international women's side for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and we have just completed an exciting upgrade at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex!

For some fresh produce and delicious eats this weekend, head down to the City's family-friendly Landsdale Markets in Warradale on Saturday.

International spotlight on Kingsway

Excitement has reached fever pitch as the City of Wanneroo prepares to host the Denmark international team as part of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Floodlighting at Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex’s main soccer pitch has been upgraded to 500 lux lighting to meet professional match standards.

The $2.7 million lighting upgrade project was funded by State Government’s WA Recovery Plan, with a $126,030 contribution from the City.

Search through the market stalls for that perfect present or neat little knick-knack and support our incredible local vendors and stallholders this Saturday 1 April.

New Rotary Park play space coming soon

Rotary Park in Wanneroo is set to get a facelift after our community supported concept designs for a new play space.

The design includes refurbishing the tree house, installing nature play elements, climbing structures, imaginative play items and shade sails, as well as fully enclosing the park and
adding a rubberised surface to help improve safety.

NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week funding support open

Is your community group hosting a NAIDOC Week or National Reconciliation Week event?
The City has up to $5,000 available per grant for successful applicants hosting National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week activities and events. Find out more below!

Wanneroo stories celebrated in heritage festival

Discover the charms of the oldest remaining houses in the City of Wanneroo during the 2023 Australian Heritage Festival.

There will be plenty of old-fashioned fun to be had at Cockman House and Buckingham House!

Try your hand at copperplate writing, relax in the gardens with a sketching session and play some classic garden games.

Reconciliation Australia endorses City action plan

Reconciliation Australia has endorsed the City’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2023-2025.

The Plan details the City’s commitment to continuously working towards improving relationships, opportunities and respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.

The Innovate RAP was developed in consultation with the City’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community reference group Ni Kadadjiny Koort (pictured) and the wider community.

Join us for our new series of free workshops and tours to learn how to better manage
your waste.

The series includes a youth clothes swap, community clothes swap and worm farm workshop.

Easter opening hours

The Civic Centre and a number of other City facilities will be closed for the Easter long weekend.

The bin collection for Friday 7 April will take place on Saturday 8 April. There will be no change to Monday's waste collections.
