Summary of Student Travel Survey Earlier this year Wānaka Primary students were asked how they got to and from school over a 5 day period (2nd-6th March), as part of a QLDC initiative, to track travel to school trends in both Wānaka and Queenstown. Please find the QLDC summary and analysis of the student data here. Pod Name Art Work Last year, as part of placed-based learning under the theme, 'Connect to my Place, make a Difference to our Space', all pods asked their children to design a graphic to go with the Māori pod names. These pod names were taken from our 'Weni and the Kowhai Seed' school story, Whaea Mary Anne wrote for us when we moved to our current campus. We approached Chrissy Wickes, after collecting all of the students' designs, to create a design for the outside of the pods. In collaboration with Mary Anne, Chrissy selected aspects from the children's art to use in her paintings. We hope to have these up and ready to appreciate early next term. Thanks Chrissy they look TUMEKE! |

Booster seats Earlier this year we purchased booster seats for our school vans. These are available for children who require them during class trips and school camps. The recommendation for car seat use, is for any child under 148cm in height. However there is no legal requirement for child restraints in the school vans apart from the seat belts already fitted. As always, if your child is travelling by private car on a school trip you are welcome to provide your own car seat. |
