You can access all your students details also from the parent portal: by following this LINK.
We have noticed a technical issue with all reports that seems to be a formatting error that has occurred from Edge. On your students report is a section labelled: Attitude. This is supposed to read Attitude and Effort. Our apologies. Scholastic NZ Brochures The latest Scholastic brochure is available from classrooms. If you wish to place an order, please turn to the inside back page and use Option 1 - Credit Card LOOP system. No cash orders are accepted at school. If you wish purchases to be a gift, please tick GIFT option otherwise all orders are handed out to students. Orders will close tomorrow - Wednesday 5th August at 3:00pm. |

EOTC / SNOW Day Cancellations Cancellations will be advised by the following methods - the Wānaka Primary School Website, our School App and Radio Wānaka (92.2FM). We try and get this information out as soon as possible - this is normally straight after the first Snow Reports (6.30-7.00am). If there is NO skiing, the EOTC programme is cancelled and there is school as normal for all students. If your child is going to be absent on a Thursday then please advise the office as attendance is monitored as usual. EOTC Snow Programme You should have received an email yesterday detailing everything you need to know. Please click on your group to see the relevant information: Treble Cone Cardrona Snow Farm EOTC School-Based Programme For the first day, we would like all children to meet in the hall. A roll will be taken, they will then learn which pod they will be based at and move to this pod. For the remaining Thursdays, they will go straight to this pod at 8:50am. All groups will spend a good part of the school day outside, so it is necessary for students to come to school dressed warmly, with jackets and sturdy footwear. Students are allowed to wear 'mufti'. Keen to be involved? We would love and appreciate any parent volunteers to help us for a morning, afternoon, or a full day on any of the Thursdays! There will be a range of activities happening every day in our school grounds, which you may like to support, and having parents accompany groups leaving the school grounds will help ensure low adult-student ratios. Please email [email protected] if you are able to volunteer. |

Contact Tracing I am writing this from home as for the last couple of days I have had a dry cough and sore throat. I was told that all communities are increasing their testing, and even though I had no other symptoms they were keen to test me as part of the increased community testing. All for the good I say, given what is happening outside of New Zealand. As part of this community protection I urge you to keep your children and yourself home if unwell, even if it is nothing more than a sore throat and cough. Please keep up with the handwashing and coughing protocols as during COVID and help out as much as you can with the COVID tracing. Below is an extract from the MoE Bulletin sent out to schools this morning: 'Notifying close contacts of a confirmed case will help minimise further spread should there be a case in your community. Please support contact tracing efforts by displaying QR code posters for the NZ Covid Tracer App at your entrance points and reception area. The App continues to increase in functionality and remains an important tool to support contact tracing should a case in the community arise.' Please use the QR codes or sign in at reception, even if you are just dropping off or picking up your child. School Camps 2020 As I have mentioned previously we have received $15,000 from the Central Lakes Trust to assist the school with post-COVID work with students. We decided to put this towards our end of year camps across all age levels and this allowed us to reduce all camp costs by 25%. If there are challenges that would make payment of camps difficult please don't hesitate to come in and see me, ring or email ([email protected]) or go and see Lucy in the office. Below are the approximate cost of camps with the 25% subsidy. We may be able to lower these as we consider costs of food. You may be asked to donate some food items in our endeavour to reduce the total cost, especially the year 5 and 6 camps. We will email you once costs are confirmed. Further information will be sent out shortly and we will be asking for expressions of interest from those parents interested in helping out at camp. Jennie Croxford is our camp liaison person so please feel free to email her with any questions. |
