COVID-19 in Minnesota today: 18 new deaths, 4,644 cases confirmed. The grim count now includes the death of a 30-year-old, the youngest victim in Minnesota so far; 320 people remain hospitalized with 119 in intensive care, roughly the same as yesterdayâs count. With the stateâs testing capacity ramping up, officials reported 463 new cases confirmed Wednesday. How will you remember this time years later? And historians at the Minnesota Historical Society know itâs important to document such moments. The society is collecting objects and stories pertaining to the global pandemic and sharing some of them on a blog called "History is Now." As of Monday, 233 people from long-term care facilities had died of COVID-19 - nearly 80 percent of all deaths so far. Although all residents and employees showing symptoms are being tested, the state is not ready to do widespread testing of everyone involved in long-term care, health officials say.
