As you may already know, this weekend’s going to be freezing cold, with Saturday lows ranging from single digits for southern Minnesota to the teens below zero in northern and western Minnesota. But that’s not all. We’re on track to see minus 20 across the state by Thursday morning next week. We know how to handle cold weather, right? Layer up, stay inside if you can and grab some hot cocoa ☕! Drive a Honda or Toyota SUV? Be careful, catalytic converter thieves are targeting your car. Since December, 70 vehicles were reported to St. Paul police that had their catalytic converters lost or stolen. Those converters have lucrative metals and are easy to remove from underneath vehicles, experts say. How to prevent theft? “Vehicle owners [should] park in well-lit areas, close to high travel areas,” suggests Lt. Mike Garland. ICYMI: Wild turkeys are taking over some city neighborhoods. Do you see them on your neighborhood streets, too? In Moorhead, wild turkeys are almost everywhere -- strolling streets, blocking doors and traffic and getting attention for their antics on social media. And some residents are not happy with that.
