Walgreens announced this week that it will be opening primary care physicians’ offices in five of its Houston area stores. It isn’t the first pharmacy chain to shift toward in-store service offerings this year, nor even the first in Houston – but the retailer is aiming to fill a widening void in the medical market, and to bring some foot traffic back to its stores at the same time.
