Mes chers étudiants de français
In English, to invite someone to do something, you use the conditional:
- "would you like to... go to the movies with me?"
In French, we use the present tense. We say: "do you want to..."
- "tu veux aller au cinéma avec moi ?".
Vouloir, pouvoir and devoir are very used in French because they are part of making invitation and basic politeness. I invite you to review their irregular French conjugation.
I post exclusive mini lessons, tips, pictures and more daily on my Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest pages - so join me there!
Good luck with your French studies,
