Second Harvest brings community relief

Making a positive difference in our community, Second Harvest provides low-cost foods and groceries to people in need. Second Harvest is not Government funded and volunteers are a key ingredient to ensuring that everyone has access to this vital service. They are currently looking for dedicated and passionate volunteers, no experience needed, and full training is provided.

Multiple Positions Available
Assistance is needed to provide emergency food relief through community food centres and an op shop in Hamilton Hill. If you can help keep shelves tidy, sort fruit and vegetables or just like helping people there will be a position to suit you.

Connecting people and community

This winter our wonderful Cockburn community and school groups were out and about rain, hail or shine! They were volunteering their services to revegetate our conservation reserves, to help increase the biodiversity and habitat value. More than 600 local residents and school children planted over 20,000 native seedlings within Bibra Lake, Manning Park, Impson Park and CY O’Connor Beach.

Not only will our natural environment benefit from these efforts, now and into the future, but our volunteers have made lifelong connections and friendships too!

Bibra Lake Fun Run Volunteer - City of Cockburn
Calling all volunteers for the one-off community event to be held on Sunday10 September. Don't worry, you won't be required to run! Thirsty runners will love you as you hand them icy cold water or their timing bib, all while shouting "Well done, you can do it!".

Volunteer Health Professionals - St. Patricks
Are you a qualified Podiatrist, Masseuse, Physiotherapist, or Dentist with a couple of hours per month to spare?
St. Patrick's are looking for volunteers to work with homeless people at their health and oral health clinics run Monday to Friday mornings.

Office Administration Allrounder - ALYA (Assisting Your Life to Achieve)
Seeking reliable, flexible volunteers to assist with general office duties each Wednesday. Office experience along with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook desirable. A great opportunity for someone looking to return to the workforce and refresh their skills.
