Good morning Voornaam,

Today, we find out the first indication of whether politicians at the Scottish Parliament will vote in favour of the Assisted Dying (Scotland) Bill. The legislation will go before its first vote, which is expected to take place about 7pm. If you haven't read up on the significance of the legislation and what it could mean, the explainer from our Deputy Political Editor David Bol available here will quickly bring you up to speed.

SNP heavyweights John Swinney, Nicola Sturgeon and Kate Forbes are all voting against the Bill - but Liberal Democrats MSP Liam McArthur, who brought forward the legislation, still claims it has majority support in the chamber.

Away from this critical vote, our Westminster Correspondent Alexander Brown reports on warnings that new immigration changes will be “deeply damaging” to Scotland's universities.
