Dear John,

Thank you for supporting the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Through your support, you are helping find missing children, reduce online sexual exploitation of kids, and prevent future victimization.

With many classrooms going virtual this year, we must prioritize teaching kids how to stay safe from online predators.

Since 2001, generous donors like you have supported the creation of online safety education resources that have been used by over 42,000 educators and have reached over 2 million kids. But the number of children under 18 in America is over 74.1 million—so we still have a long way to go.

Please make a donation that will help educate a child on the dangers of victimization and exploitation. Just $25 is all it takes to help us create resources that can empower a child to stay safe online this school year.

Keeping children safe online is critical work, I remember the words of warning from Julie, a child survivor of online exploitation and abduction:

“It’s easy for young people to think everything is private online, but it’s not. You wouldn’t show a stranger a private picture of you in public, so why do it online?  People are fishing for opportunity and want to take advantage… I see posts online about kids hating family, school, feeling misunderstood or lonely. Immediately that child may have 50 people in their inbox who are looking to exploit that vulnerability. Take online interaction as serious as face-to-face ones. Who you are online should be the same as who you are in person. I also want youth to know there are professionals you can talk to who will listen.”

With the start of this virtual school year approaching quickly, please consider making a $25 donation today. Your commitment can help save a child's life.

I hope that you and your families are safe and healthy and thank you again for your support.

Sincerely,

Callahan Walsh
