Veto showdown in Baton Rouge

Veto showdown: State lawmakers will return to Baton Rouge this week to potentially override some of Gov. John Bel Edwards' recent vetoes of their legislation, James Finn reports. Lawmakers are particularly concerned with Edwards' vetoes of three bills that affect LGBTQ+ residents.

LGBTQ+ care: Six gubernatorial candidates would have backed the state Legislature's ban on gender-affirming care for children, they said recently. The exception was Shawn Wilson, the lone Democrat in the race, Tyler Bridges reports.
