It ís easy to be green

While the entire European maritime industry physically came together again yesterday in Rotterdam Ahoy for the 40th edition of Europort, it appeared that the sector is working hard to be carbon neutral before 2050.

Keynote speaker and internet entrepreneur Alexander Klöpping offered food for thought on a changing maritime industry during the Opening Summit, while especially the younger generation called on the elderly to become more sustainable more quickly.

On the exhibition floor itself, this appeal did not fall on deaf ears: plenty of examples of exhibitors who are turning the future green. Fortunately, because as Anna Koper from the TU Delft Solar Boat Team said: "Clean marine engines are not a matter of will. It's a must!"
