Waiving Late Fees

A faucet with running water.For the first time in 32 years, I was late paying a water bill. I paid the $13 penalty as I was very busy with some family matters. I called the utility company today and was told they have a policy of waiving one late fee every 5 years. It is not a fortune of money, but better in my pocket than theirs!

Boiling Potatoes in the Skin for Potato Salad

A cooked potato that has had the skin removed. When my mother made potato salad, she boiled the potatoes whole and then peeled them. Her potato salad was so good. When I want to make a batch of potato salad, I cook the potatoes in the skin like she did.

Sprouted Seeds from your Kitchen Cabinet

A plate containing different sprouted seeds.I always sprout seeds, especially in the winter. I add them to sandwiches, salads, soups, or even eat as snacks! I normally just use a mason jar with a piece or cheese cloth or a little screen material under the jar ring/cap to allow me to rinse and drain daily until they sprout.
