USC student addresses need for Spanish-speaking doctors

Drawing from personal experience assisting patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, a USC School of Medicine student and Navy ensign pursues the development of a four-year Spanish language program to meet a growing need in the Upstate.

Fish farming company establishing Orangeburg operations

Pure Blue Fish, founded in 2016, raises yellowtail using recirculating aquaculture systems. Its new production and packaging facility is expected to be completed by 2022 and create 82 jobs.

Training facility opens on Millwood Avenue

Chosen Uno Training, founded by a recent USC graduate, is now open in the 1,100-square-foot space. The gym has trained athletes including former Gamecock and current NFL player Deebo Samuel.
