| | Florida, this is a pivotal moment in our state’s history, where we can TRULY keep Florida free, or we can perpetuate the lies sold to us, that exemptions (meaning requests for freedom) are the way out. If you must ask permission to use your freedom, you are not free; you are a slave. Our current special session bill entitled SB 2B, “Prohibiting vaccination,” does precisely the opposite. Section 1, line 95 of the bill reads, “A private employer may not impose a COVID-19 vaccination mandate for any full-time, part-time, or contract employee without providing individual exemptions…” Another way to read that could be, “an employer can mandate the COVID-19 vaccine as long as it includes individual exemptions.” Take action now and let your legislators know, that we are still not interested in mandates and that exemptions for freedom are an attack on our basic human rights already afforded to us in the constitution. Another key issue with the bill is that they are allowing the Florida Department of Health to create the forms for exemptions, which means they will start tracking our exemptions and our private medical data, like they already do for our children (if they have a medical or religious exemption or receive any kind of vaccination). So our ask is simple, we want vaccine anti-discrimination language written into Florida law which protects ALL Floridians. It protects people’s freedom to choose, just as the constitution is written. Please share this call to action with everyone you know. We must respond now, and it must be loud to sway the legislature. This is our time. Use your voice, Florida. |
