WHO EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING - INFORMATION FOR THE MEDIA

WHAT: 150th session of the Executive Board

The 150th session of the Executive Board takes place on 24-29 January 2022. The Executive Board is composed of 34 technically qualified members elected for three-year terms. The Board members agree on the provisional agenda for the World Health Assembly and the resolutions or decisions to be considered by the Assembly.

WHEN: 24-29 January 2022

WHERE: Hybrid format. The working hours of the EB are 10:00-13:00 and 14:00 -17:00. All times in CET.

Monday, 24 January at 10:00CET : Opening of the session and adoption of the agenda. WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus will address the Board. His remarks can be followed via the live webcast and will be sent to the media.

Tuesday, 25 January at 10:00CET: Under agenda item, Post of Director-General - Nomination of candidates (who.int), WHO Director -General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has been proposed by Member States for a second mandate, will make a presentation to the Board and take questions from Board members in an open session. Dr Tedros is the sole candidate proposed by Member States for the post of Director-General.
