Dear friend and supporter, There are currently over 56,000 Israelis who have sought refuge in hotels throughout the country in the wake of the war. One of the disturbing trends rarely discussed is the uptick in violence and sexual assault incidents at evacuation sites, as detailed in a critical Knesset Committee session just a few days ago. Israel Police and the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel (ARCCI) have reported a distressing increase in violent incidents within these temporary locations. This upsurge is partly due to the massive mobilization/drafting of primarily men, exacerbating the chaos of evacuation and leading to an obscured yet alarming rise in offenses. Victims are often reluctant to report crimes, compounded by the cramped conditions of these community settings. Feed Israel's mission is crucial in tackling the wide-ranging challenges faced by evacuees, grappling with the stress of displacement and an uncertain future. Our dedicated volunteers are on the ground, providing essential supplies, meals, and a sense of security, ensuring the well-being of those displaced by the war goes beyond just meeting financial needs. This comprehensive support is vital in these turbulent times, addressing both the physical and emotional upheaval experienced by evacuees. |
| Let's answer the call to action and ensure that every Israeli, whether on the frontline or in evacuation location, feels the strength of our solidarity. Warm regards, |
