Training built around current real-world expertise and fully aligned with the regulator |
Accident and incident investigations should consider why human failures occurred. Finding the underlying causes is key to reducing the risk of similar adverse events, whilst lessons learned provide insights to effective improvements. This training course will give delegates knowledge and practical support for investigating human factors issues, helping them to find ways of achieving effective change within their own organisational context. Delegates will learn from experts that have been involved in accident and incident investigations across a wide range of sectors and situations. Delegates will be provided with information that will help them to: develop, consolidate or reaffirm current competence in the field of investigating human factors; explore the process of investigating human factors aspects of incidents/accidents/adverse events; acquire knowledge and experience of investigation tools and techniques to capture, analyse and communicate the human factors causes of accidents; acquire knowledge of how humans can cause failures in systems, and systems can lead to human failures, which lead to adverse events; use human factors principles to learn lessons and identify effective interventions; and learn from the sharing of knowledge and experience between delegates and course presenters.
