| Hello. The French president is visiting the White House as European leaders seek to exert some influence on negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. Speaking after meeting Donald Trump, Emmanuel Macron said he believed talks on a truce could be weeks away - we'll bring you the latest updates. You can also watch what happened when he corrected Trump on the issue of Ukraine funding. We also report on the woman who tracked down her 'incel' attackers online, as well as ongoing confusion over Elon Musk's threat to US government workers, and a life-size painting of Lenin which is up for auction. | |

TOP OF THE AGENDA | Macron says Ukraine-Russia truce could be weeks away after Trump talks |
|
| | Macron managed to navigate what could have been a tricky day in Washington. Credit: Reuters | A truce between Ukraine and Russia could be agreed in the coming weeks, with negotiations for a sustainable peace following, the French president has said, after talks with his US counterpart. Emmanuel Macron insisted that any peace deal must "not be a surrender of Ukraine" and must be backed by security guarantees, something Donald Trump said must be paid for by Europe, not just the US. Macron's visit, to be followed on Thursday by the UK prime minister's, comes as Europe attempts to influence talks between the US and Russia on ending the war in Ukraine, something it, along with Kyiv, has been excluded from under Trump. Washington's changing stance on the war in Ukraine was also highlighted at the UN, where the American envoy repeatedly voted alongside Russia, as the global body marked three years of the war. |

BEYOND THE HEADLINES | My 'incel' attackers keep an online tally of their victims |
|
| | | The attack has had a profound impact on Annie's confidence. Credit: BBC | After she was attacked by two men while hiking in Vietnam, Annie Makeeva was left frustrated when the pair appeared not to face any penalty for their actions. Struggling to come to terms with what had happened to her, Annie decided to try to find out whether the men had done this before and tracked them down online. What she found horrified her. Their social media accounts were "full of violent imagery" and "extremely misogynistic", promoting "violence against women... western tourists specifically", with tallies of the women they had attacked. |
