Details of the adopted opinions, granted UK REACH authorisations and in-progress applications can be found on the HSE website. The Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), with the consent of Scottish and Welsh Ministers, has made a decision on two applications for authorisation for the time-limited use of substances of very high concern (SVHC) under UK REACH. The Defra Secretary of State has granted authorisations to: Abbott Laboratories Ltd for the use of 4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) phenol, ethoxylated (4-tert-OPnEO) as a surfactant in the final use of 'in-vitro' Diagnostic Devices (IVDs) for clinical testing in ARCHITECT, Alinity and ABBOTT PRISM automated analyser systems; and IDEXX Laboratories Ltd for the use of 4-(1,1,3,3-Tetramethylbutyl)phenol, ethoxylated (4-tert-OPnEO) and use of 4-Nonylphenol, branched and linear, ethoxylated (4-NPnEO) in in-vitro diagnostic veterinary products (SNAP tests and ELISA Plate tests) as an ingredient in the wash solutions, sample diluents, control solutions, conjugate solutions, SNAP wash solutions, tissue soaking buffers and detection solutions.
