UIA INTERNATIONAL FORUM

Registration is open for the UIA 2024 International Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With the theme DIVERSECITY, the event will provide opportunities for the public, architects, urban planners and policy makers to participate in a series of discussions on the use of culture, heritage, sustainability, equity and ecology to to achieve humanity and sustainable growth.

THE DAYLIGHT AWARD

On 16 May 2024, UNESCO’s International Day of Light, The Daylight Award will announce the 2024 Laureates for Daylight Research and Daylight in Architecture. The ceremony, which will take place at 18:00 (CEST) in Copenhagen, Denmark, will be livestreamed to a global audience.

ITALY: DESIGN FOR PEACE

The CNAPPC (Consiglio Nazionale degli Architetti, Pianificatori, Paesaggisti e Conservatori) has published the results of a collaboration between architects in Italy and Ukraine. This involved developing guidelines for hosting Ukranian professionals and students in Italian firms as well as workshops held to define a vision for post-war reconstruction in Ukraine.

INDIA: ANVESHAN CONFERENCE

Organised by the IIA (Indian Institute of Architects), the international research conference ANVESHAN will take place on 29-31 August 2024. The conference seeks to revisit and draw inspiration from indigenous knowledge systems that have guided architectural education and practise for generations.

ARCASIA: ARCHITECTURE AWARDS

The ARCASIA Architects Awards are accepting submissions for the 2024 edition. The awards seek to acknowledge exemplary architectural work and in doing so celebrate the Asian spirit, encourage the development and improvement of the Asian built environment and enhance the awareness of the role of architects in the socio-economic and cultural life of Asian countries.

UMAR: CALL FOR PAPERS

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit papers for the Modern Architectural Heritage of the Mediterranean: Common Grounds – Parallel Stories Conference that will take place in Crete, Greece, on October 12-13, 2024. The event is organised by the Union of Mediterranean Architects (UMAR) and its partners, which include the Greek Section of the UIA.

THE 2024 OBEL AWARD TEACHING FELLOWSHIPS ARE NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS

The three teaching fellowships provide funding to universities located in Australia, Africa and Asia to invite professional fellows to teach, create and incorporate new voices to develop impactful courses for university-level students. Fellows can apply from anywhere in the world and will be asked to teach two courses within a recognised university-level programme. The call for applications features two themes: cities or adaptation.
