| Motorsport is a passion, and when emotions run high we need to keep them in check – or bad things can transpire. The scenes from the FIA World Karting event in Lonato in Italy, caught on camera and spread on social media, were shocking to say the least. It was bad enough that Luca Corberi threw part of his kart at his rival, but the post-race violence in parc ferme – that led to a multi-person brawl – were outrageous. It’s now up to the authorities to act, not only for those involved to be sanctioned, but serve as a lesson to anyone else to ensure this kind of thing never happens again. As both Felipe Massa and Jenson Button said, behavior like that is simply unacceptable – at any level of the sport. Corberi himself seems suitably ashamed of himself, and quite rightly so.
