ATLANTIC CITY: The Borgata Hotel & Casino has invested $14 million in a new lobby bar and adjacent V.I.P. check-in, as well as a redesign of more than 300 Fiore Suites. The 1,700-square-foot lobby bar and V.I.P. check-in, debuting later this month, will include three televisions, Lavazza coffee service, and a curated tapas and cocktail menu. The 300 suites will be redesigned by early 2020. LOS ANGELES: Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has completed a refresh of its 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space and its outdoor pool. MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Lincoln Eatery and the Mondrian South Beach are hosting programs to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian. In partnership with Miami Beach Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard, the Lincoln Eatery will collect donation items requested by the government of the Bahamas. The Mondrian is offering a Hurricane Relief special, with up to 40 percent off, $25 resort credit, early check-in, and late check-out based on availability. A portion of proceeds will go toward the Hurricane Dorian Bahamas relief program. NEW YORK: The New York City Meal Pack of 9/11 Day is a volunteer service project that will provide as many as 1,100,000 healthy, non-perishable meals to people in the city who are food insecure. Held at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, the event will be co-hosted by N.Y.C. Service, New York Cares, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, City Harvest, and the West Side Campaign Against Hunger.
