FCA US continues to downsize its car business while punching up its truck sales. Ram truck deliveries grew 27.2% in September, while car sales tanked 24.3%.
Ford sales struggled in September, off nearly 8% despite a record-setting month for F-Series. Truck sales were fueled by the introduction of the all-new F-Series Super Duty.
U.S. automakers sold 1.428 million LVs in September, resulting in a 0.7% declined from year-ago. Year-to-date, the industry total hit 13.04 million units, a small improvement of 0.4% from like-2015. (Sales table)
