Equity markets slid Thursday as total job losses related to the coronavirus shutdown topped 30 million, despite climbing more slowly in the past week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 275 points, or 1.12 percent, in the opening minutes of trading while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.71 percent and 0.08 percent, respectively.
