U.S. equity markets rallied Tuesday as earnings season kicked into high gear and the Federal Reserve started a two-day policy meeting. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 374 points, or 1.55 percent, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose 1.47 percent and 1.14 percent, respectively.
