How do the Saints adjust on offense?
With Jeff Duncan By this season’s standards, the New Orleans Saints had a relatively quiet news day on Thursday. But, of course, it wouldn’t be a Saints game week without at least one player either getting hurt, suspended or sidelined for some reason. That player Thursday was Ty Montgomery, the veteran utility player who tested positive for COVID-19 and found himself placed on the reserve list along with teammates Cam Jordan and Mark Ingram before him. Amie Just has the story. The Montgomery news wasn't the only negative one for the offense. Wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey was injured his hamstring during practice this week and was downgraded from a full practice participant to limited. Luke Johnson has the Saints' full injury report. The Saints find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they prepare for the Jets game. Their five-game losing streak is the longest of the Sean Payton era. The last time the Saints lost this many games in a row was 2005, the infamous Katrina season when the team was displaced to San Antonio. And the losing is not sitting well with players and coaches, Amie Just reports. And finally, sports betting analyst extraordinaire Jim Derry gives his weekly picks for the Week 14 of the NFL slate, including his prediction for the Saints-Jets game. That'll do it for today. Make sure to check NOLA.com daily for more news updates from practice as the Saints try to snap their five-game losing streak. Until next time... --Jeff |
